Come enjoy the fun side of Philosophy (Yes! There is one!). Taste our delicious In House Brewed Beer, enjoy summer appetizers and be part of good ole fashion conversation - aimed at finding the common ground we all share in this Republic of ours. Jack will guide and moderate the discussion trying to find answers to : Is Socialism destroying America? Has Conservatism become an extreme? Who is a Communist? Who is a tyrant? What have all these words come to mean in 2021?

Description

In recent decades these and other terms used in Political Philosophy have become distorted, politicized and weaponized – but they don’t have to be.  In this next Socrates Pub, Drs. Brian Harding and Jack O’Connor will lead a group discussion on what these words traditionally mean, where they came from and what implications they may have on America.  Brian will take a Liberal perspective, Jack a Conservative one, and together they will lead an informal debate – inviting group participation – to rationally and respectfully dialogue about these emotional issues.  As fellow citizens in a free Republic, it is our duty to know, respect and understand those perspectives we disagree with - as well as the ones we hold.

So, come out and share a meal, a pint, and your understanding of where America should be headed with your neighbors!

If you have little ones (3-12 years old), we have a Kids Area! No need to hire a baby sitter. Let us know in the notes, when purchasing your ticket,  if you are bringing kids with you, so we are ready for them. As simple as that!

We will also have beer and wine by the glass available for purchase on site.
